Jason Mohns – Head Coach Saguaro High School– 2015 Earl Putman Award Winner (Top AZ Prep Football Coach) and 2016 FridayNight Fever Arizona Coach of the Year
In five seasons as head coach of the Sabercats, Coach Mohns has compiled a 61-7 record, including four straight State Championships. The 2013 and 2014 championships were in Division III and although Saguaro was moved up a division for the 2015, Coach Mohns led his team to a 12-2 record and won the Division II State Championship.
The 2016 Sabercats became the first ever Saguaro squad to finish the season ranked in the MaxPreps National Top 25, finishing the year ranked 13th in the country. The 2016 team finished 14-0 with the schools first ever victories over out of state opponents, beating Gardena Serra from Los Angeles and Valor Christian from Denver on a nationally televised ESPN game.
Under Coach Mohns’ direction, the 2014 Sabercats finished the year ranked by MaxPreps as one of the Top 50 High School football teams in the Country after finishing the year undefeated at 14-0.
Mohns just completed his 5th season as Head Coach and 10th season overall at Saguaro. In addition to winning the 2016 Friday Night Fever Coach of the Year and the 2015 Earl Putman Award as the top Arizona prep football coach, he was also named the 2013 and 2014 Division III Coach of the Year.
Coach Mohns recently served as the Head Coach for the U16 US National team, as well as the offensive coordinator for the west team in the 2016 Army All-American game.
