Chad DeGrenier continues a long history of football and his love for the game can be seen both on and off the field. Coach DeGrenier was born in Phoenix, Arizona on January 13, 1973 to former NFL player Jack DeGrenier and his wife Debbie. He played two seasons for Grossmont Junior College before transferring to Washington State University. After college, Coach DeGrenier went on to play AFL football for seven years. He spent five years playing in his hometown for the Arizona Rattlers. After his career in football Coach DeGrenier began focusing his efforts on teaching and coaching. He is best known for his 2006 undefeated season in which his Cactus Shadows Falcons went 15-0. They went down in Arizona history as the first team to win 15 games and go undefeated while winning the state championship.
Coach DeGrenier was the 2006 Max Preps National Coach of the Year, 2006 Arizona Republic Coach of the Year, and the 2006 Arizona Cardinal Coach of the Year. In 2008 Coach DeGrenier spent some time back in the arena league on the other side of the ball as General Manager and Head Coach of the Utah Valley Thunder, a new arena team in Provo, Utah. Coach DeGrenier is currently the Head Coach of Mesquite High School in Arizona.
Coach DeGrenier holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education Degree from Washington State University, and a Master’s Degree from Northern Arizona University in Educational Leadership. He is a strong supporter of Special Olympics and youth sports in the community he lives in.
